Businessman Yannick Gagné announces the sale of his Musi-Café establishment, which has become a key player in the economic and tourist development in the region over the years. The sale process of this establishment, which is an essential symbol of the reconstruction of downtown Lac-Mégantic, follows a long reflection period on a career change by Mr. Gagné.
To this end, the Engel & Völkers Montreal brokerage, through real estate broker David O’Malley, is mandated to find passionate investors who will ensure the sustainability of Musi-Café for years to come.
For several years, Musi-Café has been involved in promoting the city of Lac-Mégantic. The new building, constructed using avant-garde materials, is the cultural stop par excellence for the local clientele as well as the many tourists, summer and winter alike.
“My heart will always be connected to Musi-Café,” said Mr. Gagné. I have invested so much time, money and effort to make the institution and maintain the image it has today. With Musi-Café, I went after a dream and I now want to invest myself in other projects that are close to my heart. To do this, I want to pass the torch to new owners who will continue to develop the potential of this business.”
Mr. Gagné will be inviting the people of Lac-Mégantic and the media in the coming weeks to a meeting where he will present his plans for the years to come.
“I want to sincerely thank the people of Lac-Mégantic for their unwavering support in recent years. Their contribution to the revival of Musi-Café is great and I think the restaurant reflects and honours their contribution. “
Today, Engel & Völkers Montreal is taking steps in Quebec and around the world to find investors and managers who will continue the work of Mr. Gagné at Musi-Café. About the property for sale, contact David O’Malley at 1-819-560-2000, david.omalley@evcanada or visit his broker page at davidomalley.evcanada.com.
Musi-Café is located in the heart of Downtown Lac-Mégantic, just 20 minutes from the United States, 1 hour from Sherbrooke, 1 h 45 from Quebec and 2 h 30 from Montreal. Located at the corner of Papineau and Komery Streets, the new building is a Bone Structure building (bonestructure.ca). Musi-Café has already hosted several big names in Quebec and international music, including Yeshe, Shawn Phillips and Ed Kowalczyk, singer of the American group Live. Several comedians came to perform on the coffee shop scene, such as Jean-Francois Mercier, Michel Barrette and Guillaume Wagner.
